I’m Emily and welcome to my food blog!
After completing my first year of college (woohoo!), I felt deprived of sleep, sunlight, and…good food. Let’s be honest, the food they served in our freshmen cafeteria was less than mediocre – it quickly got repetitive and tasteless. Since I was on the unlimited meal plan and I didn’t have easy access to a kitchen, that cafeteria was my main source of “nourishment”. The only reliable foods we could count on were the fries, pizza, and Lucky Charms (so healthy! …not). Which is why as soon as I got home, I was eager to cook, bake, boil, chop, and of course, eat. During my 3 1/2 months of summer, I cooked with my mom as often as I possibly could. My goal for this year is to make good use of my suite kitchen and cook some amazing meals for me and my awesome friends who I’m living with!
I love to cook and bake because I am always amazed by the end result, something delicious and beautiful is created from scratch. It transports me to a whole different world where I can just be in the present and not have to think about worries and stresses.
Some random facts about myself:
I’m an undergraduate student studying public health. I love photographing food (still learning). I have an obsession with avocados. (Seriously, those things are incredible!) I used to have a pet shrimp. I want to travel everywhere. I’m a sucker for sunsets. My favorite foods are dumplings, berries, almonds and Nutella.
I never thought I’d start a blog but I’m super excited to share and document all the foods that I make. Also, there definitely are not enough food blogs out there, right…? On a side note, I apologize to my friends and family that have to wait before every meal while I frantically take photos of the food from a gazillion different angles and lenses.
